The automotive industry is losing its luster.
下記のようなメガサプライヤーの工場を訪問した際、
Benteler、ボッシュ、ZF、FORVIA（Faurecia）デンソー、Hitachi、Magna International、パナソニックオートモーティブシステムズ、JTEKT、Continental、Valeo・・・そして中国メーカー、業務とは別に「👀読み込み」を実施しています。
When visiting factories of major suppliers such as:
Benteler, Bosch, ZF, FORVIA (Faurecia), Denso, Hitachi, Magna International, Panasonic Automotive Systems, JTEKT, Continental, Valeo… and Chinese manufacturers, I conduct “Eye Scan”, in addition to my regular duties.
マイ・チェックリストにある５０項目の点数をさっとつけます。
このチェックは、守衛所から・・・いえ、敷地外でバスを待っている従業員の方々や工場の外観・インフラチェックからスタートします。
I quickly score 50 items on my personal checklist. This assessment starts even before reaching the security gate, observing employees waiting for the bus outside the premises, checking the exterior of the facility, and evaluating the infrastructure.

With long-time female colleagues and co-workers, conversations often turn to sharing pictures of children: “They’ve grown so much!” We reminisce about days when we were working while expecting children, and memories come flooding back.
経済的な観点からも、正直なところ、
メガサプライヤーがギガサプライヤーに成長する機会がないことは、嬉しく感じます。
利益や効率の一極集中は不健康です。
From an economic perspective, to be frank, I am relieved that MEGA-suppliers have no real opportunity to become GIGA-suppliers. Over-concentration of profits and efficiency is unhealthy.
一方、チェコに限らず「東欧」とおかしな括りでまとめられる、共元産主義圏という共通点しかないチェコ、スロヴァキア、ポーランド、ハンガリー、
組立て工場にデータセンター以外の誘致は進みませんが、自動車産業が「優秀な人材の宝庫」になったことも隠しようのない事実です。
Meanwhile, Czechia and other countries, often lumped together under the vague label of “Eastern Europe” along with Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary, there has been little progress in attracting anything other than assembly plants and datacenter. It is an undeniable fact that the automotive industry has become a Goldmine of skilled talent.
一方、組立て工場にこれまで以上の未来はないので、「見切る」タイミングもも必要です。
給与データを見ていても、私の周囲を見渡しても、管理職で待遇が良いのは自動車産業外。
However, the future of assembly plants remains uncertain, and knowing when to “move on” is critical. Both salary data and my own observations confirm that the best-paid manager positions lie outside the automotive sector.
厳しくない環境でWell-being溢れる日々。
理解不能な締め付けコスト管理もありません。
私には、トレースアビリティー99.8%のストイックな環境が合いますが、「きちっとする」が流行らない時代。
A less demanding environment, overflowing with well-being. No inexplicable cost-cutting pressures. Personally, I thrive in a highly disciplined environment with 99.8% traceability, but we live in an era where “precision” is no longer in vogue.
管理職として、老害と上司を馬鹿にする部下の意志統率を図るのも、終わりのないトンネルを走るようなもの。
As a manager, trying to lead subordinates who scorn their own superiors as “AGE-harmful”, can feel like running through an endless tunnel.
「後５年働いたら独立します！」という人生計画を披露いただくこともあります。明るい未来は自分で築いていくもの、事業計画スキルを人生計画に活用するのもステキですね。
Some have even shared their life plans with me: “In five years, I’ll quit and start my own business!” Building a bright future is a personal endeavour, and applying business planning skills to life planning is an excellent approach.
とはいえ社会情勢が不安定になっているのは、「仕事のできる人が仕事しかしてこなかったから」という本末転倒の結果でもあります。
That being said, the growing instability in society is, ironically, a consequence of highly capable individuals dedicating their lives solely to work.
お金で買える豊かさとそうでない豊かさがあるので、人との対話、地域活性化など、個人の社会責任にも目を向けると良いかと思います。
子どもがいるいないにかかわらず、「深い眠りにつくまでおせわになる」のが社会ですから・・・。
There is wealth that money can buy, and wealth that it cannot. Engaging in meaningful conversations, revitalizing local communities, perhaps it’s time we’d pay more attention to our individual social responsibilities.
Regardless of whether one has children, the society is something we rely on until we fall into a deep sleep…
