“How to improve soft skills like communication skills?”

コミュニケーション能力といったソフトスキルの向上とは？

Communication skills are MUST HAVE today, otherwise you can get your ideal job!

コミュニケーション能力に劣っていると、就きたい仕事にも就けない！と言われる時代。

You can find plenty manuals of improving skills or teaching method.

スキルアップや学習方法について数多くの攻略本が存在します。

Having a good communication is just a “soft skill“. Yeah, if you have enough time and money, just go for it, but how are your “hard skills“?

しかし、コミュニケーションが上手というのは、ただのソフトスキルです。時間もお金も余裕があればその点を磨くのも効果的でしょうが・・・、ちなみにあなたのハードスキルは何でしょう？

In which filed are you good at or are you an expert? Soft skills are attributes which just encourage your hard skills. 

あなたはどの分野が得意ですが、またはどの分野を専門としていますか？ソフトスキルとは、ハードスキルを引き立てるためのおまけ（属性）です。

It’s similar with learning English. 

英語学習においておいても同様のことが言えます。

Japanese: If someone have a good score of TOEIC, it doesn’t mean that he learned how to manage a meeting with foreigners. 

日本人のケース：TOEICのスコアが高くても、実際に外国人との打ち合わせにおいて会話が上手くできない場合。

Czech: “English level B1” is required almost everywhere, but if someone is at this level, it’s almost useless for business purpose.

チェコ人のケース：どこへ行っても、「英語は（EU規定に基づく）B1レベル」が必要とされていますが、このレベルでは、実際のところ、仕事においては使いものになりません。

That means, if you’d like improve your communication or business English skill, you should focus on some concrete topics.

コミュニケーションスキルや英語力アップにおいては、具体的なニーズ（課題）に焦点を当てる必要があります。

E.g. 例）

– I want to learn general business conversations as a buyer.

🖋調達として必要な会話全般を習得したい。

– I want to improve email communication, i.e. I need speed reading techniques and speed writing skill.

🖋メールでの会話、特に、速読・速筆を上達させたい。

– I want to say and practice what I think without hesitation.

📕恥ずかしがらずに会話をこなしたい。

– I want to learn a managerial communication skill as a boss of 10 staffs in the IT dept. 

📕IT部署で１０人の部下を持つ上司として、マネージャーの会話スキルを学びたい。

General or abstract learning style brings you self-satisfaction that you’re working on yourself, but “a future” result lies still far away from you, adios…👋

一般的で抽象的な学習方法であれば、「何かしらがんばっているぞ！」という満足感は得られるでしょうが、”見越し”結果は雲の上、アディオース（バイバイ👋）

“Be concrete in self-improvement.”

具体的な自己改善（自己向上）を！

This is one of my business communication skills. Not necessary to kindly tell everything. We love dramatics ending, happening and secrets, aren’t we? 

I’m just waiting that others will ask… “Please tell me!” Then people remember things better as there is a will, they wanted.

私のビジネス・コミュニケーション能力の一つ：

「全てを丁寧に伝える必要なし」。

誰も皆、ドラマチックな締めやハプニング、秘密が大好きですよね？

私はただ、「お願い、教えて！」と言われるのを待つだけです。

人は、自分が知りたいという意思を持った時、そのことをよく覚えていますよね。

BTW, one of my major tasks is setting up system, but… I can’t utilize above-mentioned communication skills to the system, unfortunately.

私の専門の一つにシステム構築がありますが・・・システムにはこの能力は通用しないものです。残念ながら・・・

There is no skill which makes you perfect. You should choose one or several skills within your precious time and budget.

あなたを最適化するスキルは存在しません。貴重な時間と予算と相談した上で、一つまたはいくつかを選ぶしかありません。
